Biography

Amir Ali Razaghi was born in 1979 in Tehran, Iran. At the age of 12 he started taking piano lessons with Emanuel Melik Aslanian and Mohsen Kouhestani while simultaneously learning music theory and music reading (solfege) from Sharif Lotfi. Three years later he began taking composition lessons from the well known Iranian composer Ahmad Pejman. Composition lessons with Pejman continued until 1997 when Amir entered the faculty of music at Art University of Tehran. He graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Music and continued his education by completing a graduate degree in Master of Music Composition in 2007.

In his pursuit of music, Amir has had the privileged opportunity to take composition lessons from the very famous composers Taleb Khan Shahidi and Khayam Mirzazadeh.

Amir started his professional career in National Iranian Television as a film composer. His collaboration with the Iranian National Television is still strong as he continues to compose for various movies and TV shows. He is also a very active member of the theatre center at the institute for the intellectual development of children and adolescents. He worked as the Assistant Professor at the Art University of Tehran as well as the University of Art and Culture of Isfahan until he moved to Vancouver, Canada. He currently lives in Toronto, Canada.
